Homicide Detective Eddie Danvers and his squad pull two cases the same night; a patrolman found dead next to his squad car, and a shady businessman shot in his office a few blocks away. Timing and proximity suggest the murders are related. As the squad members dig into the cases, a widening list of other crimes, motives, and suspects develops.
Eddie is a meticulous and insightful investigator, except when looking into his own heart. A possible new romance and the specter of his family’s criminal past complicate things as he tries to unravel the two murders.
